On learning:
The lesson I learned this expedition was outside of school. I learned that in order to make my words have value I need to speak up for myself. I sometimes get trampled on and my feelings get hurt, however I don’t do anything about it. I just don’t say anything and I carry the damage inside. This expedition some people were exceptionally rude to me and I just kept my words in and ended up feeling terrible. Another lesson that I learned also has to do with the power of words. When I ask people to do stuff when I am yoda and they don’t do it, I go ahead and do their job for them. Because I am making requests and when people don’t follow through my words have no meaning. So I might as well not say anything at all. So I am trying really hard to be forceful and direct yet not be mean about it. I want to get my point across but not in a rude way yet I also want to be able to speak up for myself when people are mistreating and disrespecting me.

Five Paragraph Easy

Is your happiness worth more than money?
If I had to choose between a job that I loved the paid $15,000 a year or one I hated the paid $40,000 a year I would choose the one that made me happy instead of making more money because I think being happy is worth more than money and knowing that I was only working for money would make me feel very cheap and that I can bought. I would much rather do something fulfilling.

I really dislike how so many things in life are all about money and that money in many cases is worth more than people’s lives and has so much power over people in what they do and how they act. I do not want to be one of those people controlled by money or not doing what I really want to do in life because of it and if I did just do things because of money I would feel very cheap or someone that can be bought or that I didn’t have good morals.

In life I want to do something that makes me happy. The things that make me happy are when I’m helping or doing something to make a difference in the lives of others. What also makes me happy is adventure and traveling or discovering new things. So if my job contained things like that it would make me very happy and I have considered just volunteering,  so making $15,000 a year just doing things that make me happy would be amazing.

In conclusion I think happiness is worth much more then many things in life especially money. Doing things that make you happy with yourself make you feeling fulfilled in how you’re living, by not having money control the way you live and what you do.

The Water Dragon fullerschwab

The Water Dragon

By Fuller Schwab

The water dragon is this giant blue salamander with a retractable fin on its back and head. It also has a fin looking thing on its tail. It’s speckled with black spots and sometimes the spots cluster on their back. Their feet are also webbed.  The males have whiskers and the females have smaller feet.

It live in caves on the other sides of waterfalls and swims and hunts at the pool of water the waterfall leads too. They eat fresh water trout and cat fish. The caves are mostly under water and they swim to the air pockets inside of the cave and there they lay their eggs.

They like to climb up the waterfalls and jump into the water below. They jump out of the water like dolphins. They are also amazing swimmers and can swim extremely fast. At night during a full moon their skin glows like the moonlight through the water.

The most memorable experience I had on expedition was the museums we went to. The Natural History Museum, Air and Space, and the Holocaust museum. Out of all of these I think Natural History was my favorite. There were so many categories like mammals, evolution, ancient sea, mummies and gems that we didn’t even see all of it. These were just some of the exhibits we went to. The category that most intrigued me was evolution.

Primitive humans from millions of years ago were so interesting to look at because they were very different than modern humans. I saw the famous skeleton Lucy which is four feet tall but is not a monkey and not a human yet, it is somewhere in between. Apparently she is a really big deal to scientists because they don’t often find perfectly preserved skeletons from three million years ago.

Lucy was discovered when I was in elementary school. She was found in Africa which is why scientists today came up with the conclusion that all humans evolved out of Africa. To get a chance to see the real Lucy is amazing to me because I have only seen her in National Geographic magazines. I have been on many trips and this one is on my top ten list

concert amanda

Going to a concert is an experience everyone should have at least once in their life. Seeing a live band, letting loose and getting away from stress of the day can all happen at a concert. Just getting the freedom, and living in the moment is a perfect way to spend an evening.

Watching a live band, especially a favorite, is such an amazing experience. To enjoy and see how musicians can speak to a crowd through lyrics and music stimulates the mind while absorbing the vibrations and sounds preformed. It’s an also a great distraction for forgetting chaos happening in life.

There are many things that one can do to relax and let loose at a concert. For example, one can go dancing; depending on the music being played varies the dance styles. Another entertaining thing to do before a show is getting dressed up. There’s always the chance to meet new and interesting people at shows that have the same interests as you.

The great thing about going to a concert is being able to get away from stress of life. When you’re at a concert all you need to think about is what song is coming up next, you get to live in the moment and just have fun. There’s no worry about what time you have to be up the next morning it’s much too distracting at a show to even worry about that.

In conclusion, going to a concert is a great experience every person should have. It’s a chance to break away from chaos in your life, to let loose, and have fun. Seeing a band in concert makes you appreciate the sounds around you. Overall, watching a live show is an experience everyone should have, at least once in their lifetime.
