The
most memorable experience I had on expedition was the museums we went to. The
Natural History Museum, Air and Space, and the Holocaust museum. Out of all of
these I think Natural History was my favorite. There were so many categories
like mammals, evolution, ancient sea, mummies and gems that we didn’t even see
all of it. These were just some of the exhibits we went to. The category that
most intrigued me was evolution.
Primitive humans from millions of
years ago were so interesting to look at because they were very different than
modern humans. I saw the famous skeleton Lucy which is four feet tall but is
not a monkey and not a human yet, it is somewhere in between. Apparently she is
a really big deal to scientists because they don’t often find perfectly
preserved skeletons from three million years ago.
Lucy was discovered when I was in
elementary school. She was found in Africa which is why scientists today came
up with the conclusion that all humans evolved out of Africa. To get a chance
to see the real Lucy is amazing to me because I have only seen her in National
Geographic magazines. I have been on many trips and this one is on my top ten
list
